The National Centre has written to the Chief Minister of Haryana — copy to the Power Minister — asking the government to withdraw the Haryana Agri DISCOM notification, drop the proposal for a parallel private distribution licence in Gurugram and Nuh, halt smart-meter privatisation, and open talks with the Haryana Bijli Karmachari Evam Engineer Sanyukt Sangharsh Morcha before the strike of 11–13 August 2026.

The letter treats those three decisions as one policy: the multiple-licensee agenda of the Draft Electricity (Amendment) Bill, 2025, brought in by notification after the Bill was held back.
