Kochi Refinery: workers strike after the High Court ban
BPCL Kochi Refinery employees ignored the Kerala High Court order and joined the 9 July general strike. Petroleum and electricity stand on one energy sector.

The Kerala High Court banned BPCL Kochi Refinery workers from joining the strike. On 9 July 2025 they struck all the same. The gate filled with red flags.
That date was a general strike of the working class. A refinery under court order is still a workplace of the energy sector. Electricity employees treat the defiance at Kochi as their own — coal, petroleum, gas and power on one road.
EEFI stands with the petroleum and gas workers of Kochi Refinery and with PGWFI. A ban on the right to strike is a ban on the class.
