Karnataka: twenty percent wage hike notified

The Chief Minister announced a 20 percent wage revision with effect from 1 April 2022 after sustained pressure from electricity unions.

After a prolonged wage struggle, including a token strike in March 2023 over implementation gaps, the Government of Karnataka announced a 20 percent wage hike for electricity employees with effect from 1 April 2022.

EEFI thanked the state constituents and supporting organisations. Wage revision in state utilities remains uneven; several Boards still owe settlements that were signed and then stalled.
